IREX in Ukraine seeks a qualified Program Officer. As the Program Officer (hereinafter PO), you will report to the Senior Lead for Sustainability, Innovation and Education and support the implementation of the Learn to Discern in Education. Strengthening Resilience of Education Stakeholders to through a variety of programmatic and administrative tasks.

The ideal candidate takes pride in his or her work and is able to work independently as well as work closely and cooperatively with others to problem-solve and find solutions. She or he will handle sensitive issues with discretion and confidentiality, has a strong work ethic.

Your Daily Tasks

  • Provide day-to-day programmatic, logistical, and administrative support, grant coordination.
  • Support implementation of the Ambassadors Program according to the program objectives.
  • Assist in guiding and promoting the Digital Maze initiative.
  • Organize project trainings, events, and activities (online/offline) in accordance with IREX procedures.
  • Assist the MEL Manager with the implementation of a survey among teachers to identify the number of students familiar with materials on healthy media consumption (Lessons Lab).
  • Procure goods and services, ensure quality control of the materials produced and services provided.
  • Participate in preparing program documentation, including activity reports, success stories, concept notes, and other narrative materials, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with donor requirements.
  • Register, organize, keep track, and file L2Ds documentation (applications, proposals, concept papers etc.).
  • Liaise with Financial and Administrative Team on payments, contracts, vendors and consultants, ensure all necessary documents are obtained and/or sent out.
  • Maintain effective communication with program partners, stakeholders, beneficiaries, consultants, vendors, subgrantees.
  • Work closely and coordinate with the other team members.
  • Travel frequently throughout Ukraine to attend, monitor, and participate in program events and meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Your Background & Skills

  • Minimum of three years of experience, preferably in NGO sector and technical assistance projects.
  • A bachelor's degree in public administration, management, education, political science, and/or another relevant field is preferred.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Creativity and the ability to process and transform a lot of information in more interesting and simple ways is highly needed and strongly welcomed.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and complete tasks/projects in accordance with stated deadlines.
  • Strong command of spoken/written English and Ukrainian.
  • Strong presentation skills: ability to write and present information concisely.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to travel if needed.
