Job Summary
Oversees and/or manages all aspects of the project and/or multiple programs assigned to a specific country. Responsible for the development and execution of project work products, to include but not limited to program timelines, budgets, reports, and other products as identified. Represent IREX inside the country or region.
The University Advisor will lead efforts to strengthen institutional quality assurance systems and support partner universities in achieving international accreditation for teacher education programs. This role requires deep expertise in higher education quality frameworks, faculty development, and strategic planning. The Advisor will work closely with university leadership, accreditation bodies, and faculty teams to institutionalize sustainable practices that elevate academic standards, promote continuous improvement, and ensure cost-effective delivery of teacher preparation programs.
Performs additional duties and tasks to meet the needs of the organization, team, or as assigned by manager.

Knowledge & Skills:
- Quality Assurance: QA system design, internal audit, performance metrics, continuous improvement
- Accreditation: Standards alignment, documentation, compliance, stakeholder coordination
- Faculty Development: PD framework design, mentoring, instructional innovation, institutionalization
- Strategic Planning: Visioning, cost-effectiveness, sustainability, cross-unit collaboration
- Data & Technology: Analytics, dashboard creation, digital QA tools, evidence-based reporting
- Leadership & Engagement: Change management, facilitation, policy advocacy, partnership building
Requirements:
- A Master’s degree in Education, Higher Education administration, Quality Assurance, or a closely related field is required; a PhD is preferred.
- Minimum 6+ years of experience in managing QA systems and accreditation processes in higher education institutions, with university teaching experience. Proven track record in designing and institutionalizing faculty development programs
- Deep understanding of international accreditation standards (e.g., CAEP, NCATE, TEAC) and their application in non-U.S. contexts
- Experience in strategic planning, financial modeling, and institutional reform
- Strong facilitation, coaching, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, SPSS) and QA platforms
- Fluent in Arabic; proficient in English
- Experience working with U.S. higher education institutions or accreditation bodies
- Familiarity with Jordanian higher education systems and reform initiatives
- Knowledge of digital transformation strategies in QA and PD
- Ability to synthesize complex institutional challenges into actionable strategies.
- Must demonstrate valid proof of unrestricted authorization to work in Jordan
Your Daily Tasks
- Design and implement comprehensive quality enhancement (QA) frameworks tailored to the university’s mission, governance, and academic structure
- Establish internal QA policies, procedures, and performance indicators aligned with national and international standards (e.g., CAEP, NCATE, TEAC)
- Build capacity of QA units and academic departments to conduct self-assessments, program reviews, and data-driven decision-making
- Develop digital dashboards and reporting tools to monitor academic quality and institutional effectiveness
- Guide universities through the accreditation process for teacher education programs, including gap analysis, documentation, and compliance
- Align curricula, faculty qualifications, assessment systems, and practicum models with international benchmarks
- Facilitate mock reviews, peer evaluations, and stakeholder consultations to prepare for site visits and external audits
- Liaise with accreditation agencies and provide strategic counsel on timelines, resource allocation, and evidence collection
- Design and implement professional development (PD) frameworks that are scalable, inclusive, and aligned with institutional goals
- Promote best practices in faculty mentoring, instructional design, research productivity, and reflective teaching
- Institutionalize PD through policy integration, incentive structures, and digital repositories of learning resources
- Support the development of Faculty Excellence Centers and communities of practice
Strategic Planning & Sustainability
- Contribute to university-wide strategic planning processes, offering insights on academic innovation, QA integration, and accreditation readiness
- Advise on financial sustainability models for teacher education programs, including cost-effectiveness analysis and resource optimization
- Promote cross-departmental collaboration to embed QA and PD into institutional culture
- Support the development of strategic partnerships, grant proposals, and donor engagement strategies
