The Role
IREX seeks a detail-oriented Procurement Officer to support the timely, compliant, and transparent implementation of procurement activities for the Early Grade Education Activity (EGEA).
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, this role plays a critical part in ensuring that goods and services are sourced efficiently, ethically, and in full compliance with IREX policies, donor requirements, and local regulations. You’ll work closely with program teams, finance colleagues, and vendors to keep procurement moving—accurately, on time, and audit-ready.
What You’ll Do (Top 5 Priorities)
- Manage core procurement workflows—from receiving Procurement Requisitions through delivery—ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and full compliance
- Conduct market research, collect bids and quotations, and prepare clear, well-documented evaluation summaries
- Screen, vet, and conduct due diligence on vendors in line with IREX and donor requirements
- Prepare procurement documentation, contracts, and agreements for review and approval
- Maintain complete, organized, and audit-ready procurement files, trackers, and system records

What You Bring
Experience & Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Minimum 3 years of relevant procurement or operations experience
- Knowledge of local procurement laws and regulations
- Experience with donor-funded projects and compliance requirements
- Fluency in English and Arabic required
- Unrestricted legal authorization to work in Jordan
Skills & Competencies
- Exceptional attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to learn and apply procurement systems, tools, and donor rules
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
