Job Summary

The Program Lead is assigned to the Building Tomorrow: STEM and Opportunity project located in Jordan. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the daily implementation of Building Tomorrow. The incumbent will be responsible for the development and execution of project work products, including but not limited to program deliverables, timelines, budgets, reports, and other products identified. Represent IREX inside and outside the country.

In close coordination with the IREX HQ Senior Technical Advisor and Program Manager, the Program Lead will lead components of the Building Tomorrow Project in Jordan, including:

  • providing oversight and technical expertise for the Jordanian context to program phases.
  • facilitating communication on project implementation between the implementing partner(s) in-country and the IREX headquarters office.
  • monitoring reporting and compliance issues for day-to-day programming. The Program Lead will use contextualized knowledge of Jordan to inform the project workplan, in particular, customization of the YES and STEM curriculum, STEM Linkages, work-based learning and related programming activities and Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) tools and approaches.

Performs additional duties and tasks to meet the needs of the organization, team, or as assigned by the manager.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Demonstrated technical knowledge related to effective implementation of youth skills-building programs in Jordan, including positive youth development and STEM education
  • Demonstrated relationship building and management skills
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with experience in drafting programmatic documents, such as proposals, work plans; quarterly reports; final reports; success stories; talking points; and other types of programmatic documents
  • Demonstrated ability to track and manage budgets and plan both strategically and creatively to meet project objectives
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • High degree of initiative, organization, and attention to detail
  • Commitment to the organization's mission and values
  • Excellent ability to remain flexible and collaborative while adhering to strict deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt course if needed to meet program outcomes
  • Proficient in Microsoft office products
  • Excellent cross-cultural and interpersonal communication skills
  • Fluency in English and Arabic

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field
  • 7+ years of relevant work supporting large-scale programs with subaward components
  • Proven experience managing complex programming, including monitoring, evaluation and learning, in a demanding, time-sensitive work environment
  • Proven success managing complex MEL systems
  • Experience working with communities in Jordan across education and youth development highly desired, with industry engagement and safeguarding experience a plus
  • Experience developing or facilitating in-person and virtual trainings, strongly preferred
  • You must have unrestricted authorization to work in Jordan.

Your Daily Tasks

  • Manage a consortium of partners to implement the Building Tomorrow project in Jordan.
  • Ensure that all assigned programmatic deliverables are achieved by the established deadlines.
  • Provide technical input into the development and adaptation of program materials.
  • Ensure quality control of materials and products developed under the program, including translation of materials.
  • Provide input into the development of training curricula, educational materials, training events, and strategic planning sessions.
  • Draft proposals, work-plans, quarterly reports, final reports, success stories, talking points, and other types of programmatic documents in collaboration with IREX Headquarters team
  • Coordinate organization of program meetings and events, in person or online as appropriate (check-ins, trainings, workshops, working group meetings, etc.).
  • Coordinate and support oversight of subawardee organizations in Jordan, making sure their outputs correspond to the expected deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with grant guidelines and reporting requirements.
  • Track and analyze work-plan activity progress toward project objectives.
  • Drive innovation of resources created under the program.
  • Travel throughout Jordan to participate in program events and meetings.
  • Track a wide range of information and data, maintaining accuracy and completeness.
  • Supply technical assistance in relevant areas of expertise.
  • Represent IREX publicly and support its organizational development.
  • Develop project plans, budgets, and timelines for assigned programs and initiatives in collaboration with IREX HQ team.
  • Identify potential partners, including NGOs, government agencies, private sector partners and community organizations, to enhance program effectiveness.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and prospective partners.
  • Collaborate with partners to leverage resources and expertise for program success.
  • Join headquarters staff in donor project meetings to increase awareness and relationship building.
  • Lead specific engagement with local stakeholders, with minimal oversight, and contribute to strategy and design as appropriate.
  • Contribute to program reporting and budget monitoring.
  • Other support duties as needed.
