The AIDS information Centre and other organizations in Uganda have requested the support of Peace Corps Response Volunteers (PCRVs) to serve as HIV Specialists. Peace Corps Uganda works with the Ministry of Health, the Presidential Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), non-governmental organizations and community stakeholders to increase access to HIV Testing services, HIV Treatment and reduce the risk of HIV transmission to uninfected persons. the knowledge and skills of vulnerable youth (age 12-19) to remain HIV-free. PCRVs will work with the host organization to improve access to Treatments and care services for HIV infected individuals by working by working with Ugandan relevant community structures.
The PCRVs will support the support retention of People Living with HIV in HIV care. The PCRVs will also support the differentiated service models through collaborating with teams at AIC, Community Health Workers, health facilities, District Health Teams, local leaders and organizations.
Candidates selected for this position will be arriving in Uganda together as a group, so while the departure dates for the whole group could change, dates cannot be changed for individual candidates.

Required Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in a field related to community health, social sciences, or social work
- Experience working on HIV Care and Treatment support in a developing country
