About The Job
Projected Departure

Duration
12 months
ELIGIBILITY: Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be a U.S. citizen.
Project description
The Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sport, Arts and Culture in Namibia has requested the support of a Peace Corps Response Volunteer (PCRV) to serve as an E-Learning/Digital Learning Specialist. In Namibia significant challenges hinder the effective implementation of e-learning strategies, and rural schools in Namibia face a double burden: limited infrastructure and a shortage of educators with the technical proficiency needed. Despite these obstacles, there is growing recognition of the transformative potential of e-learning to improve education. To bridge the existing gaps, teacher training and professional development in digital literacy are critical.
The PCRV will guide educators in using e-learning platforms effectively but also foster the integration of digital tools into lesson planning, delivery, and assessment. The PCRV will also help develop a Teachers’ Resource Centre website as a centralized platform for teachers to access and share digital teaching materials, lesson plans, multimedia resources, and professional development content. The overall goal of the assignment is to effect meaningful improvement in educational outcomes at a school level in the schools by implementing an effective model of systemic school improvement in the administration of e-learning activities.
