Project description
The Ion Creanga State Pedagogical University of Chisinau (UPSC) in Moldova has requested the support of a Peace Corps Response Volunteer (PCRV) to serve as an English Pedagogy Curriculum Development Specialist. The need for UPSC’s teachers and professors to acquire or improve their English skills continues to be a priority. At the same time, UPSC leadership has realized the need for school teachers (especially teachers of English) from rural areas to build or consolidate their English skills. Thus, the UPSC administration will create the English Linguistic and Pedagogical Center to address the continuous need for acquisition of English skills by the teachers from rural areas.
The PCRV will co-teaching English and strengthen the teaching capacities of the teachers from rural areas of Moldova, and the center will also be open for public servants and government officials interested in learning or improving their English skills. The PCRV will also collaborate with local staff on organizing extracurricular activities for UPSC students.

Required Skills
- BA in education plus 3 or more years of relevant experience, including teaching and curriculum development, and teaching certification/license OR MA in education plus 2 or more years of relevant experience.
- Specialized experience in one of the following areas: Early Childhood; Literacy; Adult English Ed; Vocational English Ed; or Special Education.
