Project description
The Department of Tourism (DoT) in Vanuatu has requested the support of a Peace Corps Response Volunteer (PCRV) to serve as a Tourism Investment Strategy Advisor. The DoT in Vanuatu plays a pivotal role in fostering investment within the nation's tourism and hospitality sector. Operating under the Ministry of Tourism, Trade, Commerce, and Ni-Vanuatu Business, the DoT is dedicated to promoting sustainable tourism development and facilitating investment opportunities.
The PCRV will conduct an in-depth analysis of the current tourism sector in Vanuatu, including its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges and compare Vanuatu’s tourism offerings with those of other Pacific Island nations and popular global destinations to understand Vanuatu’s competitive positioning and potential areas for growth. The PCRV will also identify key stakeholders and facilitate consultations, workshops, and focus groups with them to gather input on their needs, concerns, and ideas for tourism investment.

Required Skills
- BA in Business, Marketing, or Hospitality and Tourism
- 3 years of experience working in tourism marketing, and/or hospitality planning and project implementation.
- Experience conducting training/workshops or developing training materials for community based tourism promotion.
- Digital Marketing skills. Community based tourism promotion.
