Project description
The Ministry of Health (MoH) in Zambia has requested the support of Peace Corps Response Volunteers (PCRVs) to serve as HIV/AIDS Care and Treatment Facilitators. The HIV/AIDS Care and Treatment Facilitator PCRVs will work with the Ministry of Health (MoH) and in collaboration with health facility staff as well as community-based volunteers to support implementing HIV Care and Treatment activities. Peace Corps Zambia’s HIV program supports the Government of Zambia’s health priorities and was developed to deliver a multi-layered intervention approach to ensure that affected people have access to care and treatment services to reduce their vulnerability to and/or control HIV infections.
The PCRVs will work with their counterparts to prepare, organize and co-facilitate HIV-related sessions for target groups and community-based volunteers providing HIV services. The PCRVs will also engage in supply chain management improvement activities that build the capacity of clinic staff to manage pharmaceuticals and commodities in their health facilities, as well as working with health facilities to put systems in place to order, store, and track health commodities and products.

Required Skills
- BA/BS in Public Health, Biology, Health Sciences or Health Education
- 2 or more years of experience working in low-resource health systems.
- Experience with HIV/AIDS, sexual/reproductive health, or social behavior change programs.
- Experience with activity planning and coordination.
- Experience developing and conducting professional trainings.
