The Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje (SENA) Atlántico Regional Office in Colombia has requested the support of a Peace Corps Response Volunteer (PCRV) to serve as a Management and Organizational Strengthening Specialist. The Tesoros del Atlántico project is a territorial development initiative aimed at strengthening the local economy through the promotion of community tourism, agro-industry, and fashion—sectors deeply rooted in cultural identity and traditional knowledge. The goal is to promote sustainability and territoriality as competitive advantages while fostering the development of collective value chains. However, many of these businesses still operate in isolation, often lacking the organizational structures, integrated business strategies, and coordination mechanisms necessary to capitalize on their full potential and access broader markets through cross-sector collaboration and product-service system approaches.

The PCRV will integrate into the technical team supporting the Tesoros del Atlántico project and support the organizational strengthening of the participating businesses, promoting collaborative management structures, sustainable business models, and mechanisms for coordination among stakeholders. The PCRV will also work closely with community leaders, local facilitators, and partner institutions, adapting tools and knowledge to the local context.

Required Skills

  • BA/BS in relevant field including Social Science, Education, Business, Management and Organizational Development
  • 3 or more years of technical expertise in organizational capacity development and training.
  • Experience supporting strategic planning, results-based management and reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal, team building, and communications skills.
  • Ability to implement new systems and affect staff behavioral/attitudinal change.
  • Professional experience in program management and/or monitoring and evaluation.
