ELIGIBILITY: Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be a U.S. citizen.

Activity/project background

World Vision Latin America and the Caribbean Regional Office (WVLACRO) requires specialized support in graphic design. Collaborating with a Virtual Service Pilot Participant (VSPP) on this engagement will strengthen the organization’s ability to effectively engage external audiences in its priority areas: child protection, psychosocial support, socioeconomic inclusion and livelihoods, food security and nutrition, and mental health.

The VSPP will support these objectives by working collaboratively with WVLACRO's External Engagement team to co-design, co-develop, and co-implement strategies and content that enhance the visibility and reach of WVLACRO’s initiatives. The VSPP will contribute their knowledge and expertise to the projects, programs, and activities that World Vision implements across the Latin America and Caribbean region within these thematic areas.

The organization has previously collaborated with the Peace Corps. They understand that the role of a VSPP is very different than a two-year Volunteer.

Engagement and tasks

The VSPP will engage in the following tasks, in collaboration with their Host Country Partners:

  • Co-create visual assets for digital campaigns, social media, presentations, reports, and printed materials consistent with WVLACRO’s brand identity
  • Co-develop brand and visual identity elements, including logos, iconography, and templates
  • Co-design infographics and data visualizations that effectively convey complex information related to WVLACRO’s thematic areas
  • Adapt global visual content for local relevance, ensuring alignment with regional cultural contexts
  • Collaborate closely with the Content and SEO Specialist to ensure coherence between visual and written content for campaigns and initiatives

VSPPs are expected to engage on the tasks listed above for an estimated 5-15 hours per week. This engagement is estimated to be between 10 hours per week.

Online collaboration will generally occur between 9:00 a.m. - 06:00 p.m. Ecuador time. Specific times will be determined during orientation.

The Host Country Counterpart will have access to Zoom, Teams, and WhatsApp for regular communication and collaboration.

Per the Child Protection Code of Conduct, when engaging online with minors (0-18), two adults must be present.

Optional Additional Activities

The Peace Corps mission is to promote world peace and friendship by fulfilling three goals:

  • To help the people of interested countries in meeting their need for trained men and women.
  • To help promote a better understanding of Americans on the part of the peoples served.
  • To help promote a better understanding of other peoples on the part of Americans.

Goal 1 will be achieved through the VSPP's engagement and completion of the above tasks. The counterpart and VSPP may also choose to identify an activity that aligns with Goal 2. Additionally, the VSPP may identify a Goal 3 activity to implement during their engagement. See recommendations and tools for Goal 3 activities.
