Project description
The Charles Darwin Foundation for the Galapagos Islands in Ecuador has requested the support of a Peace Corps Response Volunteer (PCRV) to serve as an Environmental Education and Community Outreach Advisor. One of the components of the Environmental Education and Community Outreach Program of the Charles Darwin Foundation (ECO Program) is the "Science Goes to the Community" initiative, which aims to bring and enable friendly access to content, information and scientific knowledge produced by research developed in Galapagos, through activities, campaigns, projects and programmes aimed primarily at the various sectors and social groups in the community.
The PCRV will support the development of educational activities, preparation of teaching materials, and learning activities with film screenings. The PCRV will also support CDF's "Bibliotecas Viajeras " program and support library activities (e.g. inventory and keynote presentation material for various youth groups that are international and local). The overall goal is to enable spaces for experience, learning, awareness, and inspiration towards coherent and respectful behavioral changes with the natural environment.

Required Skills
- BA/BA in Education, Environmental Science or related field.
- 2 or more years of experience facilitating environmental education programming and/or conservation education.
