Activity/project background
Soroca Department of Education believes the development of English language skills is critical for both students as part of their education, and for teachers as part of their professional development.
The Department is requesting a Virtual Service Pilot Participant (VSPP) to support teacher training through online sessions with roughly 10 English teachers. Sessions will be designed to strengthen both their English teaching skills through a better command of the language and expose them to new technologies and techniques for online education. The VSPP will also support the assessment, curriculum development, and instruction of English classes by assisting the teachers and co-teaching with them formal English classes and clubs for students.
Many of the teachers benefited from the previous VSPP engagement and have expressed interest in continuing to improve their English as well as expand their teaching techniques.
The organization has previously collaborated with the Peace Corps. They understand that the role of a VSPP is very different than a two-year Volunteer.

Online collaboration will generally occur between 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Moldova time. Specific times will be determined during orientation.
