ELIGIBILITY: Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be a U.S. citizen.
Project description
The Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA) in Jamaica has requested the support of Peace Corps Response Volunteers (PCRVs) to serve as a Risk Management Support Specialist. The aim of this position is to support parish-level extension officers as they build capacity to mitigate risk for RADA. The PCRVs will assist in identifying, analyzing and managing risks that could affect the organization’s operations, objectives and overall performance. The role involves developing risk management frameworks and implementing mitigation strategies.
PCRVs will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of risk awareness and provide strategic advice on risk-related matters to senior leadership. Specific parishes were chosen because they are where 2-year Agriculture Peace Corps Volunteers (PCVs) are working with local farmer groups. It is intended that the synergies of regional work by PCRVs and the local work of PCVs will provide a positive combination of extension expertise to local farmers while also providing support and capacity building to RADA’s parish level operations.
Please note that departure dates and other details of this project could change as a result of partner needs or other external factors. Candidates selected for this position will be arriving in Jamaica together as a group, so while the departure dates for the whole group could change, dates cannot be changed for individual candidates.
Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree in risk management, Business Administration, Finance, Economics or a related field.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management, compliance or a related field.
Experience in implementing risk management frameworks in complex organizational environments.
Technical Skills
