Project description
Carve Africa and the Kamuzu University of Health Sciences have requested the support of a Peace Corps Response Volunteer (PCRV) to serve as a Monitoring Evaluation and Reporting Specialist.
Partners need support in establishing monitoring and evaluation systems, leveraging PCRVs' expertise to enhance program structure, accountability, and strategic oversight, building on existing strengths in field implementation and community engagement.
Partner Organizations face challenges due to inadequate monitoring and evaluation systems, hindering their ability to track program progress and make informed data driven decisions. To address this, they require technical expertise to strengthen their program structure and accountability, ensuring strategic oversight and maximum impact.
The PCRVs will work closely with the staff to co-develop indicators, support data analysis, and ensure that lessons learned are fed directly into program design to support improvements efforts at placements organizations.
The PCRVs will develop and strengthen monitoring and evaluation frameworks, tools, and data collection systems, while building local staff capacity through mentorship and training. They will co-design evaluation strategies, introduce innovative data analysis and reporting methods, and conduct routine data review and quality assurance. Additionally, they will guide staff in identifying key indicators and outcomes, analyze improvements initiatives, and collaborate with the Ministry of Health to inform evidence-based decision-making.
The position aims to strengthen monitoring and evaluation systems, build local capacity, and enhance data-driven decision-making to improve program effectiveness and sustainability. Key objectives include developing robust M&E frameworks, introducing innovative data analysis and reporting methods, and ensuring seamless knowledge transfer to local staff for long-term impact.

Required Skills
- 2 or more years of work experience in Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning
- Experience with computer software including Microsoft suite, data collection, review and analysis tools.
- Project management and strategy development skills.
- Strong verbal communication and facilitation skills, including ability to present information and conduct training sessions.
- Strong written communication skills, including writing and editing training materials and reports.
