Project description
The County Health Teams (CHT) of Liberia have requested the support of Peace Corps Response Volunteers (PCRVs) to serve as a Health System Strengthening Specialist.
Liberia, recovering from years of civil conflict and the Ebola epidemic, faces ongoing public health challenges, including high maternal and infant mortality rates, inadequate healthcare infrastructure, and high incidence of malaria and other infectious diseases. County Health Teams play a pivotal role in the provision of health services. The CHTs ensures that communities have access to essential health interventions and are dedicated to improving health outcomes through effective disease management and prevention strategies. The Peace Corps Response Volunteers (PCRVs) will play a crucial role in strengthening the CHT’s capacity. PCRVs will collaborate with the County Health Teams to implement robust Malaria control, data collection and analysis processes, ensuring that health interventions are effective, transparent, and accountable.
The goal of this assignment is to enhance the capacity of county health teams to implement effective malaria control and Monitoring and Evaluation processes. This will lead to improved health service delivery and better health outcomes for the population of Liberia through targeted malaria control interventions informed by comprehensive data collection, analysis, and reporting.

Required Skills
- BA/BS in public health, international development, statistics, social science, or related field
- 2 or more years or work experience in Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Experience with computer software, including Microsoft suite, data collection, review and analysis tools.
- Project management and strategy development skills.
- Strong verbal communication and facilitation skills, including ability to present information and conduct training sessions.
- Strong written communication skills, including writing and editing training materials and reports.
