About The Project
Looking for a rewarding way to share your business acumen and inspire the next generation of business owners? There’s a place for you at the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (ASEM)!
Roughly 31% of Moldovan businesses cite an inadequately educated workforce as a major obstacle to operations. The Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova’s staff are interested in meeting this in-country need but currently struggle to teach business courses that reflect the evolving needs of today's labor market and broader economy. Several systemic issues, such as heavy teaching loads and limited access to resources, have made it difficult to update the business curriculum and methodologies used in classrooms. Additionally, many of the professors were trained and accustomed to a traditional pedagogical model. The ASEM staff therefore would like to receive support incorporating research-based methodologies and technology used by today's most successful businesses into their curriculum.
As the Entrepreneurship Educator, you will collaborate closely with the university’s professors to assist the curriculum adaptation and enhancement. You will teach alongside local professors and make curriculum refinements as needed. Together, you will also identify opportunities for students and faculty to practice their English skills. Your efforts will ensure that graduates possess both the technical expertise and the soft skills desired by employers.
Activities
How you and the community will make an impact together:
Review the current business education curriculum and identify areas for improvement or enrichment.
Apply, test, and refine curriculum adjustments.
Teach English business education classes to roughly 100 students.
Develop and facilitate activities or events with an emphasis on entrepreneurial education and financial literacy.
You may also work on additional projects that meet the community’s interests and priorities, such as an English club for professors and a book club for students.
Required Skills
Competitive candidates will have one or more of the following criteria:
