About The Project

Moldovan teachers and students know that learning a foreign language can open doors of opportunity. You are encouraged to share your skills as a native English speaker with these motivated learners!

As Moldova’s economy continues to grow and diversify, there is a critical need for youth to develop foreign language skills with the support of native speakers. Such proficiency especially in English enables youth to obtain competitive jobs and make international connections that will advance both their own and their country’s prospects on the global stage. To meet the Ministry of Education’s goal of a population trained and confident in English language skills, Moldova is committed to providing high-quality English instruction to students at the primary, middle, and secondary school levels across the country. While the motivation is there to provide such support to students, schools lack sufficient educators with the necessary capacity in language and in teaching methods to advance student proficiency in English.

As an English Teacher, you will collaborate with local educators to deliver the national English language curriculum in a way that encourages retention. Through engaging clubs and camp activities, you and your colleagues will encourage students to practice English, building their confidence in using the language. You will also support professional development opportunities for teachers, introducing new methods of instruction and fostering knowledge exchanges.
