Senior Director, Government & Multilateral Affairs

Position Summary

The Senior Director, Government and Multilateral Affairs, will lead Teach For All's global strategy to strengthen government and multilateral engagement in support of more conducive policy frameworks in which our partners operate to be able to diversify and strengthen the teaching workforce and, ultimately, accelerate their mission and impact.

Working across regions, the role will build a global coalition of diverse stakeholders to advance policy frameworks that strengthen the teacher workforce and its sustainability. Through strategic partnerships, thought leadership, and cross-sector convening, the Senior Director will lead Teach For All’s contribution and convening power as a trusted actor in global and regional conversations on the future of the teaching profession.

At the same time, the role will translate these global partnerships and policy opportunities into practical value for Teach For All network partners. Working closely with regional teams, the Senior Director will advise and support partners to engage governments, access public and multilateral funding, strengthen enabling policy environments, and expand opportunities to place fellows and influence education systems in their local contexts.

This position is part of the Government and Global Partnerships team, a global team working to strengthen government, multilateral, and global partnerships in alignment with Teach For All's mission and will collaborate closely with regional support teams and global learning teams to ensure coordinated, high-impact support for network partners.

Key Responsibilities

Global Teacher Workforce Strategy & Coalition Building

Lead Teach For All's global strategy on teacher workforce development by building a coalition of governments, multilateral organizations, philanthropy, researchers, and civil society to advance policy frameworks and collective action that strengthen the teaching profession.

Strategic Advisory to Network Partners

Support network partners in translating global policy momentum into national impact by developing government engagement strategies, unlocking public and multilateral funding, strengthening enabling policy environments, and expanding opportunities for fellow placement and long-term organizational sustainability.

Network Learning & Thought Leadership

Generate and disseminate learning, practical tools, and evidence that strengthen partners' public sector engagement while positioning Teach For All as a global thought leader on teacher workforce development and systems change.

Qualifications

  • At least 12 years of experience with or in government relations, development, public administration, or a related field.
  • Proven success working with or in public institutions, multilateral organizations, or other donors
  • Required experience supporting or leading with grassroots and locally led organizations in developing public sector engagement strategies in ASEAN
  • Exceptional relationship-building, facilitation and coaching across cultures
  • Strong understanding of policymaking, development financing, and government systems, especially in the education sector and in developing countries
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to navigate complex political and operational environments
  • Comfort working in a global, networked, and fast-paced environment
  • English fluency required; additional language(s) strongly preferred

Compensation

Salary for this position is competitive and dependent on country of hire and prior work experience and includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Travel and Hours

All work is delivered virtually. Up to 20% of travel may be required. Given that we work across different time zones, some non-traditional hours for early or later calls are an expectation of this role.
