The Senior Fellow will collaborate with Center and Institute leadership to maximize our impact, including by playing a central role in the Center’s first flagship report and global summit. More broadly, the Senior Fellow will help elaborate and refine our strategy, provide expertise on energy issues and solutions, and increase the visibility of our work among public and private stakeholders. The Senior Fellow will bring ambitious vision, deep subject-matter expertise, entrepreneurial spirit, and an extensive network.
Job Responsibilities
· Contribute to the WRI Polsky Energy Center’s 2026 flagship report: Advise on report angle, research design, and messaging; author select sections as mutually agreed; engage key influence targets and champions to secure buy-in; participate in review and outreach as appropriate
· Spearhead exploration of a potential role for WRI in leading the 21st Century Power Partnership, such that (subject to WRI leadership approval) the partnership could become a thought leadership platform for WRI Polsky Energy Center priorities: Identify resources to enable the Polsky Center to engage the Clean Energy Ministerial and member countries, organize events at Senior Officials Meetings and other relevant venues; develop concept note and decision memo for consideration by WRI leadership
· Advise on Clean Heat Accelerator, Asia Clean Energy Coalition, and Latin America Clean Energy Coalition, and other new initiatives as mutually agreed
· Engage high-profile influence targets to advance WRI Polsky Energy Center priorities, including through the 2026 Global Energy Transition Summit as well as a potential convening with hyperscalers
· Advise and engage on additional issues pertinent to the global energy transition and the WRI Polsky Energy Center’s strategy as mutually agreed
Job Qualifications
· Advanced degree in a relevant discipline.
· Prior leadership experience on clean energy issues.
· Significant political experience, highly connected, and possessing a high degree of political acumen.
· Superior strategic thinking skills and ability to develop novel approaches to solving problems.
· Demonstrated ability to give constructive feedback.
